So, you booked your session with Rae of Light Photography. You’ve choosen the clothing, the location, met with Rae, everyone survived the session with minimal meltdowns & lots of happy smiles. Rae notifies you that your gallery is complete, now the fun part begins, shopping!!!! You’ve looked at your portraits, you are in love! Rae captured your family perfectly & you’ve choosen your favorite portraits to display in your home. The hard part is over right? Not necessarily. Some clients have a difficult time knowing what SIZE portrait or canvas they need. Logic tells them, “hmmmmm…. I’ll just get a couple of 8x10s….” Visualizing your portraits on a wall can be very daunting for some. *I am re-vamping my home office with a ton of canvas prints, so I can relate to the indecisive mindset. I’m trying to figure out just HOW BIG I want to go.
Over the fireplace – an excellent use of space for a family portrait, but with an 8×10, not so much….
This 20×30 framed print works so much better in the space available. Your family’s portrait is now a focal point in the room, and commands attention. It’s not swallowed up by all the empty wall space.
A beautiful gallery hallway wall is another wonderful place to display family art…… either it’s a Big Ole’ FLOP….
Or it’s absolutely FABULOUS!!!
How about behind a livingroom sofa? This actually isn’t a bad set up….
But it doesn’t have the “Wow” factor that the display below has. What a conversation piece for people that walk into your home and see THIS! The portraits fill in the empty space and work with the sofa. In the above photo, the sofa wins, it dominates the space. The below set up of sofa and wall prints compliment each other.
Nonetheless, I am here to help! In-person consultations are always welcome (psst…. and they are covered as a part of your paid session fee). I know it is difficult to fit into everyone’s busy daily schedules; but please know, that I am here to help and will meet with you in your home to discuss your needs and desires to decorate your space with family portraits.
