I’m a little late on posting these photos from our MLK Play Day at Central Market. Remember the zombie faces? Spending the day and eating lunch at Central Market is a long time tradition. I have photos of our excursions dating back to 2005. There is a huge playscape under enormous oak trees that the kids love to play on. The food is incredible; gourmet sandwiches and soups and salads - Here’s the Menu! Occasionally, I enjoy a glass of vino with lunch; however, most days I drowned myself in their hibiscus ginger tea. It’s oh so good! After we eat and play, we take the kids into the store and buy dinner at the Chef Prepared Food Counter. They have a huge selection of main dishes & sides already cooked and prepared. Off to the wine section for a nice bottle of wine and then we’re done. I love that on Central Market Days I can come home and not have to cook or clean up (well, there is a small clean up, but not much).
Each time we go, the kids show up clean, but go home absolutely filthy, sweaty, and exhausted. (and happy)! We had the kids rolling and racing downhill – grass and mud stains everywhere. All in good fun, right?![]()

If you’ve ever been to Central Market, you know about these birds! They are brave lil’ boogers. If you’re not careful they will fly right up to your plate and steal your food. You dont dare walk away to get a refill on your drink because you’ll come back to an empty plate with these guys around.

See how dirty they get? Somewhere along the way, my son ditched his shoes and decided to go barefoot. Thankfully he took off his socks too because there would have been no amount of bleach to get out the grass and dirt stains. The boys below are looking into a parking garage and I couldn’t help notice their dirty tushies! I just had to take a photo!
