Friday Freebie: Thanksgiving Card

Finishing up my family photo session, and I was inspired to make a Happy Thanksgiving card.  Thanks to the wonderful designers at Pixels and Ice Cream for their retro flower pattern, I was able to construct a cute little 5×5 card!    And it’s your for the taking, download here. and here.  (one link for the front and one for the back).

Beautiful 8×8 Coffee Table book

I had a recent boudior session a few weeks ago, and my client ordered an 8×8 coffee table book with all the images from her gallery put in it.    She gave it to her husband as a birthday gift!    This book is gorgeous!   When the client saw it, she loved it.  When her husband saw it, he called me on the phone to tell me how much he loved it too!       This book is beautifully made with a leather cover, which comes in a deep red (pictured), a chocolate brown, or a classic black.

When you open the book, there is a black linen cover page,  then your cover page follows.

The corners are nicely folded with a black linen paper cover.

Every page is bound nicely and neatly in the center.  It’s construction is sturdy and will last for many years to come.

For now, I have a 10×10 and an 8×8 book available.

55 Glorious Inches of Portrait!

My husband has been busy setting up our high definition television so that I can show clients’s their portraits on it.    We tested it today, and let me tell you, it is going to blow your socks off!   I thought that my 20 inch computer monitor was great when I had my clients over to review their gallery and place print orders, but now, I’ve got 55 glorious inches of viewable portrait space!!!    Although not every client opts to come to my home office for their gallery viewing – schedules are busy, too far to travel, etc.   Here is one more reason to choose this.    There is no extra charge for this service, just requires a bit of your time to come by.    Along with this service, you will be able to view the different types of portraits I have displayed through out my home from storyboards to linen textured black and whites, to full color wall portraits, to stunning 20×30 canvas prints.   All of this, is to help you make a better decision when it comes to the prints you need for your home!   This option is available to everyone who books a custom photo session with Rae of Light Photography.

And last, since I CANT post a thread without posting an image, here is my cutie patootie daughter getting ready for her Halloween themed birthday party next month.

I Spy……

…… with my little eye, a boy whose mommy told him to go play outside and not get dirty.

Sneak Peek: Country Life in Cameron Texas

I grew up in the country on a ranch in Mertzon, Texas, so every time I go out to Cameron, Texas to see this family, it makes me yearn for home! In these times, where my life feels like it is going full speed, it is nice to get back to my roots…. the country…. everything slows down and you can breathe in that fresh country air. I had a fabulous time this weekend. The weather was warm with a cool breeze and the location was beautiful. What more could a photog ask for? 🙂

Thank you for the opportunity to photograph your family.

This lil’ guy had me smiling and giggling the whole time. I asked him what his favorite thing to do in school, and he replied “the cafeteria!” A guy after my own heart! 🙂 Not only is he witty, but very smart. He informed me the “4000 + 4000 = 8000” I told him that I didn’t know any other 1st grader who knew how to added that much!

Here a portrait of my college girlfriend and her family! Her daughter is just the cutest! She is a little over 1 year old and a very busy little girl! She didn’t want to stay still for long.

And last, but certainly not least, the patriarch of the family “Pops.” He was relaxing by the fence line when I quickly took this portrait.

You have found a true talent in yourself. Thank you so much for coming to the
ranch and spending some time with us. I’m already getting emotional. 🙂 Blair
